Prather Ranch grows certified organic crops to feed the cattle
The closed herd cattle graze on irrigated pastures and the crops grow on irrigated farms that are operated by Prather Ranch. The soil and water supply for these locations are all routinely tested. Our herds and crops are certified organic by Quality Assurance International.

The Headquarters Ranch is surrounded on three sides by the Klamath National Forest. However, Ralphs Ranches Inc. (dba Prather Ranch) entered into an agreement with the Klamath National Forest which excludes cattle grazing on approximately 7,000 acres which directly surround the ranch on these three sides. The remaining side of the ranch is private farmland, where cattle grazing is also prohibited.

These protective measures allow Prather Ranch Pharmaceuticals to control the food sources for the cattle, which is critical for material purity. Also, the Headquarters Ranch routinely tests the soil and water to ensure that the cattle continue to be raised in a pure environment.

Additionally, Prather Ranch farms a 3,000 acre hay ranch located five miles northeast of the Headquarters Ranch. The crops are used exclusively as feed for the closed herds. The water supply for these crops comes from deep, pure irrigation wells as well as natural rainfall. Detailed records are kept on the feed produced for the herd. There are no genetically modified plants grown on the ranch.

Prather Ranch Maintains a dedicated feed lot for control of the cattle's food chain

There is a dedicated feed lot surrounded by a 10' foot high deer fence which prevents interaction between deer and cattle. At weaning, calves from the backup herd are sent to the feed lot on the Headquarters Ranch for fattening.

Prior to slaughter, the cattle are fed a custom grain mix for approximately 150 days to fatten them. This mix is also ranch raised and source verified and is prepared in our dedicated feed well. The cattle are fed in our feed lot for quality control.

The food supply for our cattle does not contain any animal derived proteins or hormones.
