Since 1991, the Prather Ranch has maintained individual animal records
with the following information:
Unique identification number
Birth date and weight
Maternal lineage
Paternal lineage on artificially inseminated cattle
Weaning weight
Slaughter weight
Personal health history, including:
Vaccination records:
Vaccine type, lot number and expiration date
Vaccine administration date, dosage, and manufacturer
Health records:
Any symptoms, diagnoses, and treatments that have occurred.
If treatment involves pharmacotherapy, the date of administration, dosage,
and lot number are recorded.
The animal's meat cut-outs and carcass yield
By keeping this extensive database, longitudinal data is available
for analysis. This data provides accountability and extensive
traceability for the ranch's bovine material products.
