Prather Ranch Pharmaceutical's cattle herd was founded in 1964. Since its
inception, there has not been any animal derived protein fed to the herd's
members. Growth hormones are not used on the animals.
The original cattle herd has been divided into two closed herds, the primary herd
and the backup herd, from which the bovine
products are derived from. These closed herds are raised using the same
operational procedures but are raised on separate ranch land that is dedicated exclusively to each
respective herd for biosecurity purposes. The backup herd is certified organic
by Quality Assurance International.
Extensive details pertaining to each animal's heredity and health history
have also been kept. This multi-generational data allows for thorough accountability
and traceability of our bovine source material.
